So I am thinking I will do a simple ribbed hat with a provisional cast on so I can pick up those stitches again and then knit grey on the inside for a reversable double knit hat.....sound ok?
If anyone has any very masculine fair isle hat ideas please pass them my way.

My problem is I already cast on for Marihne. Hello! I still have mittens to finish for grandpa, a scarf to finish up for my niece, a hat and some chenille towels for my mom, more doilys for my MIL, and I was going to knit up some MD washrags for my BIL and his wife. I just can't resist the urge to cast on something I have been wanting to make for ages.
I am loving fair isle so much I can't wait to dig into these patterns and just knit some for fun!

I purchased this pattern today. I have been in love with it ever since my first visit to a yarn store when I was a brand new knitter.
I am going to knit one up for Riley when the Christmas knitting is finished. I think before I start my Telemark sweater I want one more small scale sweater steeking project. I was also thinking of converting this sweater into a cardigan which is what I would like to do to Telemark as well. Well everyone have a great Turkey Day. I am at work and can't wait to get home for my long weekend. My husband and I are going to brave the shopping traffic on friday. Our goal is to get all of our christmas shopping for our family and our children done on friday. Wish us luck!

My first ever doily for my mother-in-law. Made from size 3 crochet cotton. I was working in 30 and it was just way way way too small. For this one I started out with size 0 needles then switched to 1 then when I got to the heart pattern switched to 3. I think I am going to attempt it again with this cotton and use a size 5 throughout and see what happens.
Speaking of fair isle. Here is an almost finished hat for my grandmother. Made from the reddest Cascade 220 that I had in the stash along with what I think was fisherman's wool from the stash. I just need to line it now. This one is for my grandmother for christmas. She said she loves red and after making this hat so do I! I bought some Lion Wool while at freddy's the other day. I am going to make one of these for myself.
An Irish Hiking Scarf for my daughter's old sitter. We are very close with her and she is a special friend. She will be traveling to London this winter so I think this will keep her warm and toasty. It is made from some orangey, tweedy shetland that I had in my stash that was gifted to me. I think after a good wash with some lanolin it will be softer.....hoping anyway.
And some mittens for my grandfather for xmas. I started by using EZs pattern from the knitters almanac then switched to Hello Yarn's pattern finding it easier to follow. I used her chart and sketched out a pattern using EZ's star as a focus.
That is about it for the picture update. Work is still crazy hectic. I am looking VERY forward to my looooonnnnggggg weekend. Although I will probably need to go in on Sunday...or Saturday...I think Sunday will be better.
Paul and I are going to brave the roads and do some midnight shopping thanksgiving night at the Seattle outlet mall. OH MY GOSH! Yes we are crazy. But we are shopping this christmas. This is the first christmas in about 3 years that we have had money for presents....I am excited!

Lint was VERY cute! They had a good selection and lucky me had just gotten in a large sock yarn shipment. I ended up with some Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in the Vera colorway. Very pretty. I also got some Lana Grossa Color Tweed in the 1001 colorway.
I actually didn't buy anything at Knit Purl. Now I wish I would have. They had some very neat looking sock yarn but it wasn't priced so I assumed it was outragously priced. Has anyone ever knit with Shibui Knits? Knit Purl also had a great selection of Kogiu. I am wishing I bought some now but it is so hard for me to spend $25 on one pair of socks.
Downtown Portland was interesting but very .... quiet. Nothing like downtown seattle. Visiting other cities just solidifies how much I really love this area and my city.
I did finish two projects on the car ride. I finished some MD washrags for my bro's gal and I made a Valentine Doily for my MIL. It was a really quick knit. It is blocking at my mom's house now. I will post pictures when it is done.

Other than my two chosen destinations my husband has no clue what he wants to do on Saturday. We will only have one child with us so shopping will be MUCH easier.
Hopefully I will come back with a few FOs from the car ride. I cast on for an Irish Hiking Scarf yesterday. I have a friend heading to London for 10 weeks in January. I am also hoping to finish the Knitting on the baby sweater I am working on for baby trout and I should start the hand towels for my mother. Well have a nice weekend everyone! I need to pack.
