My chiropractor and his wife are expecting their first baby (a girl) in February. Since I love doing baby knits and fair isle and found this cute pattern online I decided to knit something cute up for them. I think I will actually make a few more hats for the little chiro baby seems as how I picked up 5 skeins of Baby Ull for this hat and still have plenty left.

My husband and I also joined a gym. I had my first workout with a trainer the other day and I hurt. This is good. He asked me what my goals were and I answered "ummm to not be a fat ass anymore"
Seriously that is my goal. I really want to loose 80 pounds in the course of the next year. I am hoping at least 20 pounds in the next 3 months. I love our gym. If you are familiar with the Burien area we joined the Highline Athletic Club. I would highly recommend it. The facilities are great and the staff is very friendly. It isn't a meat market gym either which I love. It is more expensive than most but I think well worth it. And you get 3 complimentary trainer sessions when you sign up. OK enough of my plug. Go Join!
Now if I could just figure out how to knit while I am working out.
I hear that people are loving my knitted gifts. My 8 year old nephew has been showing off his skull cap to everyone and getting lots of compliments on it. My grandparents love their knitted gifts as well.

Santa thought I was a good girl this year. I got a gift certificate to my favorite LYS, a coffee grinder and some other knitting notions. My husband got me a rolling tote for my larger knitting projects, The Knitters Handbook, a french style coffee press...yes! and a cell phone. Very nice.
My mom also got me a gift certificate to my fave LYS as well. Can't wait to go this week!
Riley said it was the greatest christmas ever....whew! I did my job.

I don't know if you can see this but the top 20 feet or so of our fir tree is in our Hawthorne tree.
This tree is a block away from our house and what I am assuming is the cause of our power, phone, internet and cable being out. Oh and there is a car under there. This tree also took out two telephone poles and two others that stood are now crooked.
This tree is about 6 blocks away. Part of it is on a house.
There were more limbs and trees down in our neighborhood but these were a few of the big ones.
This one is in West Seattle. It took us over an hour to get to West Seattle from Burien last friday. We went looking for food because we heard on the radio that parts of West Seattle had power. There were a lot more trees down over that way.
Thankfully we survived. It was scarry during the night hearing the wind blow. This is definitely the worst storm I have seen in my lifetime being a lifelong Seattlite.
More crafty pictures later.
Here is a Meme Lyn tagged me with.
THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says ‘you are tagged’ in their comments and tell them to read your blog.”Six weird things about me: 1. I never snored until after I was pregnant with my daughter now I guess I snore all the time....fun!
2. I have a knee that will dislocate....often.
3. I am severely afraid of being trapped in an elevator. I get a mini panic attack every time I enter one.
4. I am very anal about customer service ever since being a retail store manager. When I am being helped anywhere I will internally critique the person helping me.
5. I am one of three redheads in a family of blonde people. (extended family)
6. I am completely obsessed with The Sopranos. I watched seasons 1-the first part of 6 in a matter of months and I have dreams about the characters in this show. My husband says I have a "hard on" for this show. I can't wait for the rest of season 6. I actually embarrassingly obsess over the show. I'm tagging- Rachel, Gina, Karen, Kim, Knitting RN and Affectioknit

WARNING: There are a lot of patterns I want to do. Lengthy post ahead. I am actually suprised at 1) how large the issue is and 2) that there really are so many I want to make. Usually only a few patterns catch my eye.
Center Square Riley is getting one of these FO SHO! I am thinking a friends daughter will get one for xmas too.
Argosy Oh I HAVE to make this for myself. 2007 is going to be my selfish knitting year. I am sure i have some stash yarn for this one too.
Calorimetry This is just too cute! I was just thinking I needed one of these too as my Notre Dame one is getting stretched out. And I just love the botton! So feminine.
Tiffany I just LOVE the picot edge on these.
Rolling Thunder These will definitely be on my 2007 year of socks list.
Monkey I just love any sock pattern that Cookie does and I think my Kogiu that i have in my stash would look great as these.
Emerald I have some yarn I have been wanting to make a cardigan style sweater with and I think this is the winner.
Twinkletoes I am thinking that Riley would LOVE a pair of these gals. Again I am sure I have stash yarn for these
Venezia I have been wanting to experiment with wire for some time and recently I have collected a stash of beads for making stitch markers. I think that my mom would love these.
Starsky Jr. Yet again another Riley knit.
Norberta Of course Jake needs a knit too!
Sheldon Riley gets all the clothes Jake gets the animals.

What you see here is a mitten for grandpa (my second attempt), Irish Hiking Scarf for a friend, hat for mom and a newly cast on sweater for my Godson.
You may think this doesn't seem like a big list of Christmas projects but I keep adding to it like a madwoman. What I have not cast on for are some potholders for my neighbor/sitter, I am working on a secret project for a friend which I absolutely cannot post here, I thought it would be nice to make my mom a scarf to match the hat I am making for her, and I want to finish the other sweater pattern that I bought yesterday as well. Can it be done? Will I go crazy trying?
I couldn't resist casting on for this sweater last night after getting the pattern and the yarn. I just Looooove Debbie Bliss yarns! This Merino DK is perfect. I need to remember to pick up more for socks!

I got the baby tunic pattern, this for my friends son (no fur of course) and some very cute wooden buttons to go with it, and this with some Debbie Bliss merino DK to knit it up with. I also picked up a Knit Simple mag from a while ago the one with the flowers on the front.
I dislocated my knee earlier this week so my evenings after work are being spent laid up in the recliner. I didn't knit much last night I was too sore but I saw my chiro today and I feel much better.
