Here is a call out to the 3 people that read my blog.

My Great-Grandmother whom I have named my firstborn child after is turning 100 years old this year. She is having a party this summer. I want to knit her something filled with love.

Here is some info

She is super sharp hasn't lost any of her mind in her 100 years
She lives in an assisted living home, has her own apartment
She likes very nice things.

As one of the people who read your blog, how about a nice lace shawl in an ultra luxe yarn? Like the Shetland Triangle from Wrap Style, or the Flower Basket Shawl? I've heard those are on the easier side! Or some house socks in ultra luxe yarn (though you'd have to be careful, I'd imagine socks made out of silk or cashmere would be extra slippery--we wouldn't want her to slip and fall!)

I have the flower basket shawl pattern from fiber trends and would be more than glad to let you borrow it! You can also dig through my back issues of IK.

I suggest a caplet in expensive yarn... like Koigu or a cashmere blend if you can get it. I've just purchased a bunch of lace books and I'd be happy to send you pics of the insides of all my favorite patterns.

I say a caplet because they tie on (so they won't fall off and they're not fussy), you can do some lace to make it extra pretty and they remind me of the old-style collars from the 20's, 30's and 40's. Certainly something that a lady her age can appreciate. Plus, in my opinion, a little bit of lace will dress up any outfit.

How about a lap blanket in something really fabulous. Then she can have it out and it would be a little reminder of you.

For my grandmother's 100th birthday, I knit her a sweater. Or a shawl would be nice :) But definitely in a luxury fiber!
