Merry Christmas!

Luke 2:1-14 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

The Icicle Project

We have many many icicles that have grown from the roof but one is GYNORMOUS!!!! Paul swiped the others off to take some weight off the eaves but we had to keep this science project growing. Here is the progress as of last night. It is longer today.

My House

My house is small.
No mansion for a millionaire,
but there is room for love, and room for friends
that's all I care...

Here is an icicle that Paul took off the front eave. This wasn't even the longest! It looks like we will be snowed in for a few more days. Depending on the streets Paul is going to attempt to drop me off at the shop tomorrow. We'll see...

It's Official

We have made the 6 inch mark! Oh and it is still snowing. I know people who get snow all the time are like "come on that is nothing" but we are northwesterners for crying out loud! I don't even own a pair of snow boots and we don't own chains for our tires.

Really... 0-2 inches

Tickle Me

This is one of my most favorite sounds ever. You must watch the whole video.

Ok so I lost another pound and a half! Paul and I have now been running in our workouts. My first run I could only do a half mile but then the next day I ran a whole mile! Amazing! I guess all of those years of playing soccer can still make a big girl run. I used to HATE running, running around a track that is. There is something so perfect about running on the treadmill at the gym with my headphones plugged into the TV, you get in the groove and then you have ran a mile!

Winter Wonderland

Yes it has snowed in Seattle people! AND.... it didn't go away within a days time! AND... we are expecting more on Wednesday! Holy Moley how did this happen?

We had some fun Sunday afternoon playing in our front yard for a short stint. It is soooo cold out. I know some of you who are used to snow think us Northwesterners are sissies but man it is cold! I can do rain for two weeks but cold come on! I can't believe I braved two winters in Eastern Washington when I went to WSU.

Enjoy the video! Also if you feel like viewing there are more pictures below.

When the Power Goes Out

For some reason a good chunk of Burien lost power yesterday. We were out from about 1:30pm to after 7pm or so. During the day the kids and I were ok playing with toys and I took out the Nintendo DS (a rare occasion for them).

After a while children get bored of course and I remember "Hey I have a lap top! It can play movies!"

And my sweet girl says "Mom I want to knit" awwwww too bad it only lasts a row. Oh well each row is progress.

Oh and breaking news Winter Blast 2008!!!! Gotta love the Northwest. There is about an inch on the ground and the news is all over it! The snow plow has already been down the street which barely had snow on it. Oh well at least we are prepared and it is pretty.

All the Knitting

I was knitting. Feverishly for bazaars. Stupid economy of course no one wants to spend money. I still did well enough to justify buying a table though so I shouldn't complain. Following are projects I have finished that I don't believe have been posted here.

I gained 5 pounds! I guess the fact that Thanksgiving, my brother's engagement party and water weight gain don't help. I usually gain about 5 pounds once a month.... sorry being real here. The kids have been sick the past few weeks and now I am feeling very flu like which doesn't make for a lot of gym trips. I am hoping by this time next week the 5 pounds will be gone which usually happens. Still it is a let down. Although I don't "feel" like I gained 5 pounds. You know how you would normally "feel" that weight in your pants, shirts, etc. My pants actually feel looser. What I really need to do is some measurements.

A real blog post...the floor

Ok camera and cord a post full of pictures!

Here is what we had to start with. NASTY!

After a day of sanding. There were stains all over the floor so we could not go with a light stain.

After staining. We don't have a picture of the clear coat and our furniture all moved in. I just finished painting the hallway last night (FINALLY!) so now I need to put all the tools and paint away and then decorate for Christmas and you will get a picture of the finished beauty!

My baby lost her first tooth!

NOTE: I hate posting pictures of myself on here. Paul and I went to my brother's engagement party. Oh yes he proposed after 7 years!. My husband had a bit too much to drink but thankfully he is a very happy drunk and was quite the entertainment. We were very safe and stayed the night at my mom's house. It was a lot of fun and all of us are very happy for my brother and his now fiance.
