Tagged!

Pam has tagged me! The rules:
1) Link to the person who tagged you.
2) Post the rules.
3) Share six non-important things / habits / quirks about yourself.
4) Tag at least three people.
5) Be sure the people you tagged KNOW you tagged them by commenting what you did.

Ok lets see if I can even think of 6 random things about myself that are even mildly interesting.

1) I am distantly related to Mark Twain through marriage to some cousin of some sort through my Great Grandmother on my mother's side.

2) I ALWAYS put ketchup on my mac n cheese. I can't have it any other way.

3) Speaking of cheese.... I also put a slice of cheese in my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Not sure how I came up with this or how long I have been doing it but it tastes good.

4) I breastfed my daughter until after she was 4.

5) I used to flash random people ALL THE TIME! This was of course in my MUCH thinner pre-baby body.

6) I used to have my navel, eyebrow, nipple and tounge pierced in that order (not all in one day it was over the course of a few years)

So now I need to tag three people..... 1) Carrie 2) Erin
3) Rachel

Have fun gals!

More Snow!

Seriously this is so unlike Seattle. I am amazed and irritated. After a few sunny days I was really looking forward to nicer weather and spring and summer in the northwest and instead we are having a midwest spring today.

Of course the kids wanted to play with the bubbles they got for easter. I told Riley this morning that if the snow covered the ground that she could go outside and play in it. Of course I didn't think at all that the snow would even cover the ground!

What???

Snow.Seattle.March! It will be gone in a few hours I am sure but still....odd.

In other news my mac is definitely dead now. Yes the mac I use to run my business. WONDER-FUCKING-FULL! And I know this sounds weird but we aren't in the position or every have been the type of people that just have a few thousand extra dollars laying around so it wasn't like I could just go to the store and buy a new one. Would have been nice. Finance you say? So far it looks like I suck but we are waiting to hear back from one more place online that my husband uses through his work a lot.

In the meantime I absolutely can't help my customers which sucks! And it is looking like it will be AT LEAST a month until I have a new computer. I hope they are all still around then. I know bad business! It is completely embarrassing but what do you do?

So HAPPY PICTURES! YAY!

Riley cheesing it up for the camera.

I love taking Jakie sleep pictures because he always is super cute with his hands. Usually they are both behind his head.

Riley modeling a mistake rib scarf I did out of chunky black baby alpaca. Yeah you can't really tell what stitch it is but she is cute and the scarf is warm and comfy.

Riley modeling her goggles from the easter bunny. What? Oh the picture is sideways? Yeah I would normally fix that but my freaking mac broke! and it has all my photo editing software on it!

Oh right this IS a knitting blog right? Not so much anymore but here is your knitting content. This is a finished sleeve to Mariah. Love the yarn Love the pattern! Can't wait for my comfy sweater.

Go Cougs!

My wonderful Cougs beat Notre Dame yesterday oh wait kicked their buts with a 61-41 win! The Cougs now head to the Sweet Sixteen. Yes I am excited.

Something I noticed, Taylor Rochestie bears a resemblance to McLovin. I think he looks like a more grown up version. You know when the nerd grows out of the nerd and is pretty cute but still slightly nerdy looking?

New Camera!

I really peeved Paul with this one. But look how cute Riley is! I will be playing with the new toy throughout the week. (don't look at my horribly messy house in the background please!)

In knitting news I finally started Mariah! After years of coveting this sweater I casted on. I got a great deal on Numero Uno Tweed from Little Knits so it justified finally making it for myself. I chose the burnt orange colorway. Paul says it isn't his favorite color but a few other people have told me it will look nice with my coloring. I agree.

Since I have the new camera I think I will take pictures and do a WIP list so you all can see what a cast on slut I really am.

Remembering Rick

The funeral yesterday was very nice. PACKED! It was so obvious how loved Rick was. The only time I have seen so many people at church is during Christmas eve mass. If you didn't get there in time you literally had to stand on the side aisles or in the back with the other crowds of people.

The service was nice. Rick's brother and nephew got up to say a few words and were very eloquent. The priest was also somber and yet because he knew Rick very personable about him and was able to make a few jokes.

After the funeral there was a reception which at first you could barely walk through the auditorium with all the people there. It is amazing to see how many people were affected by one single person. People mingled for a while and then a few people got up to say more words about Rick. Then some of his friends and his brother in law had a jam session for a while. After that his band LeRoy Bell got up to play. It was so surreal because usually Rick would be up there playing with all these people and last night he was not. Also it was wonderful because everyone was enjoying what Rick really loved and I think he wants it that way.

Rick's nephew during the funeral has this to say about Rick quoting the movie Braveheart when William Wallace says "Every man dies. Not every man really lives." He said Rick really lived.

I cried the whole way home and first I felt so guilty for feeling so sad and actually crying because there are soooooo many more people out there who REALLY knew Rick well much better than I ever did and loved him so much. Personally I can count on one hand the amount of times I remember speaking with him or being where he was. Yet, he has known me my whole life as the Novito family has. I guess I really mourn for them. For my mom's best friend (Rick's sister). For all the people who never got to meet Rick. Really I am so sad because he was so talented. Yes extremely talented musically but obviously also in life. Seeing all the people who loved him. That takes a life talent. Why people leave this earth before we think they are ready we will never know, that is in God's hands. Rick did teach me a valuable lesson yesterday and I will keep that with me forever.

The lesson is this: Cherish your family at every second. Be a wonderful and caring friend to all you know. Remember to be humble, and lastly always live as a peaceful person. If you do these things you will know how Rick lived and like Rick's nephew said Rick really lived. I can only hope to really live as Rick did.
