Thankfully I didn't actually stand in a line for the entire 5 hours. I would have died! The system was set up very well. You were assigned a letter and they called the letter groups which were 50 people each. I was group J and when I got there it was group C. Holy Cow! This is where bringing a New York Times crossword puzzle book, knitting, and a cell phone to text friends comes in very handy.
I was lucky enough to find a nice group of women who traveled from Prosser and sat with them the majority of the time chatting about Ree, house values, home improvement, WSU, casinos, and eastern Washington vs. western Washington. There was a food court and a big band playing on a stage.
Just before 11 pm I got to meet Ree. She was still very alert considering she had been meeting total strangers and signing her signature for almost 6 hours. She was/is very nice. Took a few moments to get to know me as much as she could and STILL took a nice picture. Her cookbook is wonderful. I love the photographs and the easy instructions. You must get one!
